October 2019 Newsletter

Apologies that our newsletter is a little late to the website....

For anyone who has had withdrawal symptoms, after we had to cancel last week's session due to an event for the Chorlton Arts Festival being held at The Lloyds. - we are back to meeting as usual, every Thursday in October from 7.30pm to 9.30pm.

Gig News
A big thank you to everyone who came to the September gigs. They went really well, with some lovely comments from the organisers, and audiences alike, and a great buffet at the Assist Charity gig. We hope you enjoyed them as much as we did.

Two dates for the diary in November. We will send out more details in next month's email.

Wednesday 13th November
Venue: Burnage Library
Time: Playing at 11am for 30 mins.
This gig is for a group of pre-school children and it is being advertised by the library as a Wiggle and Jiggle session.
We will be playing a few children's songs and jolly songs from our songbook.
Feel free to wiggle and jiggle, but it is optional for us! This will be a very lively gig.

Wednesday 27th November
Venue: Heathercare, Sale
Time: Playing at 1pm for 40 mins
We will be playing from our Christmas gig book.
There will be coffee and mince pies afterwards.
We will be running through the children's songs and Christmas gig book in November... should be fun!

Other bits and bobs
On You Tube there's a 30 day uke course covering strumming, barre chords, finger picking, chord melody etc and free printable resource for the course. Look up Bernadette teaches music 30 day uke course. It leads on from her 30 day ukulele challenge.

The Edge now has a dedicated intermediate ukulele course on Wednesday from 7.30pm-8.30pm as well as a beginners and advanced class. See their web page for details www.edgetheatre.co.uk

Looking forward to returning to normality on Thursday evening - 3rd October - at The Lloyds.

Hope to see you there.

Chorlton Ukulele Team.
