A big thank you to everyone who came to our gigs at Heathercare (thank you Gill for organising a great buffet for us) and Green Walk. We rocked.
CHUG has flourished since our humble beginnings nearly two years ago and now Chorlton Ukulele Team consider it necessary to have our own public liability insurance instead of relying on venues having it. This would insure our members, as well as the public. This has a cost and from Thursday 6th June we will be collecting subs of the princely sum of 50p per week (where else can you get a good night out for 50p). We will collect the subs in the beer break before we start the second half. Periodically simple accounts will be attached to one of our monthly emails.
We are going to add a few new songs to the songbook. We have some songs that were submitted to us last time we asked. If you have a song that you would like to submit please send a PDF or word doc to us and just one song to avoid us being inundated by Friday 21st June prior to the Chorlton Ukulele Team meeting on 25th June.
Gig News
Date: Saturday 13th July
Time: 2.45pm (please arrive 20 mins before hand to set up)
Venue: St Hugh's Primary School, Park Road, Timperley WA15 6TQ
Parking: There are a number of on site car parking places available. If you require one please email us so we can reserve you a space. Otherwise parking is on side roads.
Public transport: The Metrolink Timperley stop is a few minutes from the school. On leaving the station turn left, head down the hill, cross the road at the crossing by the shops and the school is near by.
We have been invited to play at the summer fair. We will be playing outside but in case of rainy weather, they have contingency plans so we won't get wet.
We will be playing 2 x 20 mins sets with a half hour break in-between.
We have been told that there will be complimentary food and drinks for us.
Sue and Chris will be there approx. 45 mins before hand so look out for them.
We think bright attire would be good.
Some of the children have been learning ukulele and may play along with us during the second set.

We have been asked by Assist a charity that supports older people in the community.
The event is to celebrate 50 years that it has been running and they will be inviting their members, volunteers, local councillors and funders.
We probably will do 2x 30 min sets.
